Partnering with Students to Connect Students

Too often outreaches and interventions designed to support students transitioning higher education, are developed by academics who may not have a full understanding of the complexity diversity their students’ realities. This disconnect explains why, in most cases, reactive instead proactive. In this article, we draw on our experiences terms design implementation Student Resource Centre (SRC) advocate for student staff collaborative design. The student-run initiative works with as partners constitute operationalise an innovative near-peer mentoring space. mixed-methods study draws social-cultural learning theory engagement reflective practice tools. We explain how student’s sense belonging is central success, progression, graduation. article highlights need contextualise personalise institutional students.
